During one of my many prep meetings with CS' Global Citizens team Eva mentioned "the emotional cycle" of the trip... my first impression was... "really, is that like a thing?!"

Oh my... how could I have been so wrong!

It surely is "a thing"!!!

During the short week that I was in Bogota on assignment (that btw FLEW by!) I have felt every emotion, even those I didnt know I had...

I was sooo nervous to go to a country I had never been to and had heard so much about. I travel a lot but on the other hand, I didn't have to cause I am kind of one of theirs, right? Dark hair, olive skin, I mean... I even speak the lingo, Might be "fake Spanish" like I get called back home but culture wise we have so much in common.

I was scared of disappointing people that were counting on me, excited for a new challenge, positively surprised by what I discovered, amazed by what I saw people achieve, surprised by the acceptance and interest I received from locals, happy with the result of the project, sad to leave this beautiful country so soon....

I saw so much emotion around me, people were genuinely friendly and oh so happy!

Why cant we Europeans who have so many more means be more like Colombians?

Colombia mi amor,

you opened my eyes and

conquered my heart,

hasta pronto papi

emotional cycle
