I am sure everybody says that their mother is the best cook in the whole world but believe me when I say mine REALLY is! Mama Luceno makes the best paella in town!

Food makes me happy, it always has. Eating is one of my favorite parts of the day, anybody that knows me can confirm this. We Mediterraneans LOVE good food! This is the reason why for my next (pre-) fundraising event for Teach for Colombia, I decided to organize a group dinner.
But then the golden question was ... where?!!

One of the many English customs I have embraced and learned to appreciate over time is the famous Sunday roast in a traditional gastro pub preferable in the outskirts of London!

As a big Jamie Oliver fan, I had of course tried his delicious Sunday roast at Barbecoa on numerous occasions. Given its iconic and strategic location topped with its stunning setting, I decided to hold my fundraising dinner at Barbecoa Piccadilly.

Dine for Colombia turned out to be a really successful event with over 50 attendees all over the world!
It was a great cosmopolitan mix of people with all 1 thing in common... a passion for Colombia...
Some guests were Colombians or had Colombian partners, others were just intrigued by the educational work of Ensena for Colombia.

I was very honored to have a special guest all the way from Bogota... Victoria Kellaway award winning blogger and author of the incredibly funny book Colombia a comedy of errors was kind enough to attend our fundraising dinner with her husband Carlos and a group of their friends.

Find the menu here.
We took this great opportunity to have a delicious meal with friends, support a valuable cause and at the same time learn more about Colombia.
A little quiz was organized with questions taken out of Vicky's book.
Like for example "What do the colors of the Colombian flag represent?"
Or my favorite, "What is a Mestizo?"

Where award winning bloggers are present, numerous twitter selfies are a must!

I am extremely satisfied with the result of this fundraising event for Ensena for Colombia, I am even considering making it an annual habit... Who is in?
One last thank you to all of you who made this event such a success!
Gracias a todos.
* £15 per meal was donated to Enseña por Colombia
